I'm Sorry, Itachi

Sasuke stared at Itachi, his eyes a vivid red color. He was gasping heavily for air. He was low on chakra, and he had never been so tired in his life. Itachi stared back at Sasuke, his own Sharingan eye very unlike his brother's. They were dull and faded.
He was almost completely blind. The only reason he could keep up with Sasuke's speed was by sensing out his chakra. Sasuke hadn't noticed the difference in Itachi's eyes, thankfully. His younger brother still wasn't strong enough to kill him, and he was actually getting sick of waiting.
"You still aren't strong enough, Sasuke."
Sasuke's heart skipped a beat. Itachi hadn't referred to him by name since he was eight. That wasn't the point though. What Itachi mean he was strong enough? He had killed Orochimaru himself. He had whiped out the entirety of that blasted Sound Village. He had also killed Kisame, but somehow, he just wasn't  able to kill Itachi.
"You do not hate me enough, Sasuke. Your holding back. Perhaps I need to take something else from you?" Itachi taunted in the same cool, collected voice he always spoke in. Sasuke frowned. What else was there for Itachi to take?
He had, himself, killed Sakura, and Naruto, and even Kakashi. He had killed everyone closed to him. There was nothing left for him anywhere. He had gotten rid of everything that might have slowed him down or prevented him from succeeding in his goal. So then why was he 'holding back'?
"Haven't you destroyed your heart yet!? Why won't you kill me?!" Itachi litterally scolding him.
His brother, who didn't a rats ass about him, was scolding him. Something was wrong with this picture.
The silence was deafening. No one spoke. Sasuke wanted to, but he didn't have answer for Itachi's question. Sasuke knew he could kill Itachi, but now his mind flooding with confusion.  A long breeze whipped through the feild they were in.  Itachi started to chuckle. Sasuke's eyes narrowed, his glare hardening.
"Can you not kill me...Because you still love your 'Aniki'?" Itachi returned Sasuke's glare with a stone cold, uncaring stare.
Sasuke blinked in shock. What did he mean by that? How could Sasuke possibly even care about Itachi?! It made no sense.
Itachi took off his Akatsuki cloak, dropping uncaringly to the ground. He reached slowly into a sheath, pulling out the same katana he had used to kill their clan. Sasuke blinked in confusion. Did he really need to take off his cloak to pull out a katana?
Sasuke watched his brother lift the katana to his own neck, laying the cold metal across it. He didn't seem to care at all either. Sasuke's eyes widened as he realized what Itachi was going to do.
The Uchiha Prodigy slid the blade across his own throat swiftily, slicing open his neck and spilling blood all over the short, yellow grass he was standing on. The blood from his throat was pouring out like a waterfall. Sasuke screamed in horror at what his brother had just done. Itachi collasped onto his back, his Sharingan eyes had faded by the time Sasuke got over to him. They returned to their original black color. Sasuke fell to his knees besides Itachi, his eyes filled with tears.
"Y-you idiot! What were you thinking, bastard....?" Sasuke sobbed, denying his actual feelings.
A drop of rain fell from the sky, landing not to far from them. Then another, and another, until it was pouring. Sasuke took a kunai from his holster, staring into his brother's deadened eyes.
"I'm sorry I couldn't live up to your expectations, Itachi." He whispered. Wit that, He drove the blade through his chest, straight into his heart. More blood spilled across the grass, as Sasuke fell onto his side, his onyx eyes half open. He, ever so slowly, reached out and put his hand in Itachi's, gripping it semi-tightly.
"I'm s-sorry, An...ni....ki..." Sasuke's vision faded, as darkness fell, consuming him completely.
Maybe now they'll live,
